The American Battle Monuments Commission will host a series of free daily guided tours until this fall at Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn more about the site, its history, and those commemorated there. 

For the high season, the number of guided tours at Normandy American Cemetery has been increased compared to the winter schedule, in response to higher visitor attendance. Developed by site staff, the program features thematic tours designed to give visitors a deeper understanding of the cemetery, the service members honored there, and ABMC’s mission of remembrance. Tours are offered in both English and French throughout July and August. 

“Through these daily tours, we aim to provide visitors with a greater understanding of the history of the cemetery and the individuals commemorated here,” said Robert Adams, superintendent of Normandy American Cemetery. “ 

Tours are available every day until fall with English-language tours at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. CET, and French-language tours at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. CET.  All tours begin at the Overlook within the cemetery. 

Participation is free and open to the public, and no reservation is required. 

Located in Colleville-sur-Mer overlooking Omaha Beach, Normandy American Cemetery honors the service and sacrifice of American armed forces during World War II.
